I am a nationally certified teacher of music with Music Teachers National Association. I received a Bachelor of Instrumental music degree from ASU in 1971. My major instrument was piano. I have studied piano with master teachers such as Jane Tan, Francisco Aybar, Walter Cosand, Mary Pendleton, and Dan Hooper. I am a member of East Valley Music Teachers Association and Desert Vally Music Teachers Association. In addition to private lessons, I run a computer lab featuring software for ear training, theory concepts, and music history. The students have their private lesson and then afterwards, they go into the lab and do an assignment. I do one big studio recital a year in May, plus various activities sponsored by EVMTA. I have participated in the Arizona Study Program for many years. Currently I have around 12 students.

Bachelor Degree in Music Performance and Child Development, performed in jazz bands, orchestras and musicals, produced children's musicals, sponsor jazz clinics and master lessons with concert pianists for my students to experience music in a bigger way. Trained in Orff, Suzuki, mentored under concert artists from New York, New Jersey, attended many world-re-known music camps and music prep programs throughout the country. Many previous students are professional today or have received high honors in music on a national level, and music scholarships. One continuous thread is that my student LOVE to play music even years later. I love teaching music as artistry to any age and believe that music is nurtured from the heart. Anyone can become great with hard work and given the proper tools. Check out my studio facebook page titled Pearl Allen Studios.
